In observance of World Food Day on October 16, students at Nguyen Sieu Primary School participated in a special lesson and a “Food Hero” workshop, organized by Electrolux and the Electrolux Food Foundation.

Representing Nguyen Sieu Primary School at the event were Principal Nguyen Thi Lan and members of the school’s leadership team. The school was honored to welcome Ms. Panchanit Snape, Senior Communications Director for the Asia region; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong, Human Resources Director; and Ms. Pham Thanh Nhung, Sales Director for the Northern region.

Notably, this event marked the first time Ms. Panchanit Snape attended one of the corporation’s "Food Hero" workshops. Her presence added a special significance to the occasion, fostering greater connection and the sharing of meaningful values as the "Food Hero" spirit is introduced to the students at Nguyen Sieu Primary School.

During the workshop, the students explored the journey of food—from cultivation, care, production, and transportation, all the way to the dining table. They learned that behind every meal lie significant resources, effort, and the energy of the Earth. Through this, the students gained a deeper understanding of why it is so important to cherish food and minimize waste.

The speaker for this engaging workshop was Panchanit Snape, Senior Director of Communications for the Asia region at Electrolux. The students participated enthusiastically, answering questions, sharing their thoughts, and interacting with great confidence in English. This open, conversational atmosphere allowed them to both acquire new knowledge and practice their language skills in a real-world communication context. Following the session, Panchanit offered high praise for the students, describing them as exceptionally creative and intelligent.

Beyond simply learning that one should not leave food to go to waste, the students explored practical, everyday ways to reduce food waste: taking only what is needed, storing food correctly, making the most of ingredients, and developing a more responsible attitude toward what they consume.

A small workshop that delivered a significant lesson: every choice we make today can contribute to positive change for tomorrow. “Food Hero” not only helps students better understand the value of food but also fosters a sense of responsibility toward the community, the environment, and the precious resources of our Earth.
