CONFIDENCE – SHINING IN YOUR OWN WAY

News Tuesday, 24/03/2026

In a modern learning environment, a student’s success is not measured only by knowledge or academic results, but is also nurtured through the qualities that help them move forward with confidence on their journey of growth.
With this spirit, the school organised an activity around the Cambridge Learner Attribute – Confidence as an opportunity for students, teachers, and the whole school community to reflect more deeply on the meaning of confidence.

Confidence does not always come from the brightest moments on stage.
Sometimes, it begins with very small things:
•    a hand raised even when the answer is still uncertain,
•    a quiet question when something is not yet fully understood,
•    a willingness to try again after making a mistake,
•    or the silent perseverance to become a little better every day.
For this reason, Confidence is not only about expressing oneself in front of others, but also about believing in oneself through the process of learning, trying, and growing.
Through interactive questions, familiar scenarios, and joyful moments of sharing, the activity opened up a broader and more humane understanding of Confidence for students.
They came to realise that:
confidence is not about being perfect, but about being willing to try, to ask, to practise, and to grow through unfinished moments.

What the school values is not only the students who stand out, but also the unique ways in which every child shines:
•    the courage of a child speaking up for the first time,
•    the perseverance of a student who does not give up after setbacks,
•    the initiative of a learner who seeks support in order to keep moving forward.
These are all beautiful expressions of Confidence – and also the first steps in becoming a positive, resilient, and empowered Cambridge learner.
By recognising and appreciating confidence in its many forms, the school hopes to share a meaningful message:
every student can shine when they are seen, encouraged, and trusted in ways that are right for them.
From the classroom to the stage, from small daily efforts to visible steps of progress, confidence will continue to be nurtured as an important value in the school’s educational culture.

TRY – ASK – PRACTISE
This is not only the message of one activity, but also a gentle reminder to every student:
Be brave enough to try, courageous enough to ask, and patient enough to practise — so that each day, you may shine with confidence in your own way.
