News Saturday, 15/08/2026

TWO TEAMS, ECO MAKERS AND GREEN FUTURE FROM NGUYEN SIEU PRIMARY SCHOOL, ACHIEVED OUTSTANDING RESULTS AT THE WORLD GREENMECH CONTEST 2026, HELD ON AUGUST 8–9 IN NONTHABURI PROVINCE, THAILAND.

The World GreenMech Contest is an international STEM competition for students from primary to high school. It encourages learners to apply Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) to design, build models, and solve real-world problems. The competition also focuses on renewable energy solutions, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

The 2026 season brought together 398 teams from various countries and territories, including India, Malaysia, Mongolia, Indonesia, Taiwan (China), and Vietnam. The Vietnamese delegation comprised 16 teams selected from the national finals, with Nguyen Sieu Primary School represented by 5 students divided into two teams.

BOTH TEAMS MAKE THEIR MARK AT THE COMPETITION

At the tournament, both teams from Nguyen Sieu Primary School achieved notable results in the primary division.

The Nguyen Sieu Eco Makers team competed in the GM-Basic Contest category (Team Code: GB08401001) and won the STEAM Overseas Educational Contribution Award. This award recognizes international teams with creative models that demonstrate technical design capabilities, practical application of STEAM knowledge, and a commitment to spreading the spirit of green education.

The Nguyen Sieu Green Future team participated in the GMJr. Science Contest category (Team Code: JS08401006) and made it into the top 50 outstanding teams, earning the TOP 50 Honorable Award. This result acknowledges the students' systems thinking, teamwork, and technical problem-solving skills during the design and research phases to complete their project.

TWO DAYS OF COMPETITION AND HANDS-ON STEM EXPERIENCES

To prepare for the competition, the students underwent a process of learning, testing, and continuously improving their models under the guidance of their teacher-coaches.

During the two competition days in Thailand, the students had to complete and operate their models under time pressure while presenting their projects to an international panel of judges. This was a valuable opportunity for them to apply their knowledge to practice, practice teamwork, handle problems, and communicate in an international environment.

FROM STEM FOUNDATIONS TO THE INTERNATIONAL ARENA

The achievements at the World GreenMech Contest 2026 reflect the results of learning and practicing STEM/STEAM, where students are given opportunities to explore, experiment, design, and seek solutions to practical problems.

In accordance with the guidelines outlined in Official Dispatch No. 5208/BGDDT-GDPT dated August 7, 2026, regarding tasks for general education in the 2026–2027 academic year, STEM/STEAM education and scientific/technical research activities must align with the objectives of the general education curriculum, school conditions, student capabilities, and practical adaptability.

Participating in domestic and international STEM arenas creates additional opportunities for students to apply their knowledge, develop problem-solving skills, and become familiar with international competition standards.

Behind the success of both teams is the diligent preparation of the students, the guidance of their coaches, and the support of their parents.

Nguyen Sieu Primary School congratulates Eco Makers and Green Future on their accomplishments at the World GreenMech Contest 2026. The experiences gained from this competition will serve as a foundation for them to continue nurturing their passion for science, technology, and innovation.

According to the provided schedule, WGM 2027 is expected to take place in August 2027 at the Taoyuan Stadium in Taiwan, promising new opportunities and experiences for students.
