GRADE 4 – A DISCOVERY JOURNEY TO THE TEMPLE OF LITERATURE – IMPERIAL ACADEMY

On the morning of August 19, 2026, 4th-grade students from Nguyen Sieu Primary School took part in a meaningful experiential learning trip at the Temple of Literature – Imperial Academy, one of the most prominent symbols of Vietnam's tradition of studiousness and educational culture. 📚

Rather than learning solely through textbooks, students stepped directly into this historical space to observe and explore landmark architectural works within the complex, such as the Temple of Literature, Khue Van Cac (Pavilion of the Constellation of Literature), Stela Hall of Doctors, Dai Thanh Courtyard, and Thai Hoc Section. At the same time, they listened to captivating stories about Confucius, Teacher Chu Van An, and Kings Ly Thanh Tong, Ly Nhan Tong, and Le Thanh Tong.

In the solemn atmosphere of Dai Thanh Gate, students and teachers conducted an incense-offering ceremony. This was not only a formal ritual, but also an opportunity for the students to express their deep respect to ancestors and predecessors, gaining a clearer understanding of the national tradition of respecting teachers, honoring morality, and valuing knowledge. 🌱

Every step, story, and observation throughout the journey became a vivid lesson, equipping students with valuable knowledge in History and Geography while fostering their skills in observation, communication, collaboration, inquiry, and discovery. 🎨

These experiences at the Temple of Literature – Imperial Academy will continue to be integrated into Experiential Activities, Vietnamese, and Fine Arts classes—where students will map out their journey, recount the trip through letters and essays, and create artworks to preserve these beautiful memories. Thus, the trip does not end when they return to school, but extends into their ongoing lessons and creative projects. 💚

Learn to understand – experience to feel – and from those feelings, grow to deeply cherish the values of our homeland and country. The journey to the Temple of Literature – Imperial Academy offered the students an extraordinary lesson where history is no longer confined to textbook pages, but lives on in every structure, story, and step taken. 🌱
